Pension Altair – A Favorite for Families in San Sebastian

Pensión Altair offers eight rooms with private bathrooms and desks. Seven are double rooms, one is single, and one room is adapted for physical disabilities. Each room includes a flat-screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a safe that fits a standard laptop. Four rooms feature exterior windows with Gothic stone arches. An elevator serves all floors. A shared refrigerator is available in the common area, which also offers a microwave, tea, coffee, and truffles from Arrese sweet shop.

No onsite restaurant. The pension is a 10-minute walk from the Old Town, known for its pintxo bars like Bidea Berri, which serves hand-carved jamón ibérico. Nearby cider houses offer cod omelette, fried cod with peppers, steak, cheese with apple jelly, and cider served directly from the barrel.

Located in Gros, a surfing neighborhood. 7-minute walk to bus and train stations. 10 minutes to Old Town pintxo bars. 300 meters to Kursaal Congress Centre, 250 meters to San Ignacio Church, 150 meters to Surf Eskola. 15-minute walk to Monte Urgull. Close to La Concha Beach and Tabakalera cultural center.

Near events like the San Sebastián International Film Festival in September, the Regatas boat races in September, and the Semana Grande festival in August with fireworks and concerts. The Behobia race in November draws 30,000 runners. The Donostia Cup youth soccer tournament and Surfilm Festibal also take place nearby.
